Cute Designs

I randomly found this website selling unique, one of a kind, adult tee shirts and baby onsies, tee shirts, and hoodies. I think some are adorable and clever, and worth supporting artists who probably feel pretty lucky to get their artwork on clothing sold to the public. That is the idea of this website, as it supports "awesome designs created and chosen by you." Titled Threadless Tees - Nude No More, I think I might be spending some money here in the future.

A day & night ALONE?

We had a night alone! Husband and wife, together, alone together, with no baby! I had had a night out (2 hour night out) prior without Kins to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, but Kris and I still needed to connect as a couple. Sunday was the day and night. Starting at 4, Kris and I got to kick up our feet, listen to some music, have a couple of drinks, and hang out with fun friends. Dinner was nice and relaxing as well. We sure do appreciate and love dearly my Mom and Dad/Kins' Nana and Grandpa. They allowed this evening to be possible and we thank them so!

Evidence this actually happened and was not just a dream...

 Kris seems pretty stoked!

Kicking up our feet! So nice.

Ephiphany

Within a flash, this came to me. Our inner child, our baby /toddler/child-like qualities all are in us: deep within us. We have ties to our child-like qualities and we hold a place in our hearts for our inner child. Would you tell your child they are unworthy? worthless? selfish? lazy? Would you talk to them the way you sometimes find yourself talking to your spouse? After this thought entered my head, I immediately saw Kris as his three year old boy "self" wearing his short, bright red cotton shorts and knee-high rainbow striped socks. He had a bright smile that I am sure made everyone melt and a bowl hair cut to add that extra cuteness. I thought of telling that young boy the things I tell Kris (adult Kris) sometimes. I know fights are a common part of marriage, but sometimes you find yourself saying the rudest things. I would never forgive myself if I told Kris as a young, three year old adorable child the things that I tell him now.

What I learned from this "so called" ephiphany:

I will not only look at my husband as a man, a great man, but as a young boy who deserves nurturing, attention, and validation. This is my prayer.

Want

Oh, I would wear these all day, everyday, even in my sleep, if I could afford these. $598 is a steep price, heck, that's the price of the camera I want. Maybe in my next lifetime. So in superficial love.

Candids

All these photos, yes, are random, and don't seem to go so well together, but as I am sure you can all gather from my blog thus far, I love to take photos, and I take them all the time, every hour, sometimes every half an hour. All are quite candid, and rough, without any editing, but are too dang cute not to post.

Two photos in particular, I have to comment on. Note: the photo of her back, the one with the knit bloomers...those were mine. I found them in a box up in my parents rafters. They were in a bag full of my most favorite stuffed animals, hidden away, probably never expecting to ever be worn again. They were too cute not to pull and of course Kinsley had to wear them. So I put them over pink tights, don't ask me why, and she sported them like a vintage champ. Kris, my husband, bit his tongue the whole day, as he was not too fond of the look, but he went along with it as he noticed I loved the outfit sincerely.

The second photo worth noting is the one in which she is in a red car. Yes, this is the mall marry go round, and I did indeed subject her to it, for photo reasons and that alone. Turns out she loved it. After her first turn was over, she pointed to the money slot and I knew she wanted to go again. Another dollar went in. 1 minute later it was over. I had no more money and I felt awful that I didn't. She could have gone 10 times.

In a World So Big

Dear My Kins,

In a world so big, you, little one, sure are tackling it just fine. Things just don't seem to overwhelm you and you are so willing to explore and venture out, gaining hold of your independence. Your little legs are taking you far now, and you are able to see so many things. You love to smell the flowers, touch new textures, meet new people. You absolutely adore dogs and are always on the lookout. All new sounds intrigue you and all new sights interest you.  You wave "Hello" at everyone walking by with a pleasant, happy smile almost permanently attached to your face. Everything distracts you, in a good way, because you are just so curious. Following mama, or walking in a straight line is just not something you are capable of yet, but that truly is okay with me. Everything you are seeing and experiencing is brand new, and you have to see it. Another mommy told me that it is a one year olds only job to explore; explore through touch, sound, taste, sight. I would have to agree. And I am so happy to let you do so.

I had so much fun yesterday watching you explore downtown Ventura and the Ventura pier on foot. I set you down on your two little feet and you were off. You peered in every window and walked in every open door. You touched every newspaper carrier, put your hand in every water pipe belonging to each building, touched every tree and bike attached to it and picked up seeds and acorns you discovered on the ground. Everything is so exciting and amazing to you and I enjoy watching your excitement more than you will ever know. I love you my little, independent one.

 Love,
Mama

Enjoy...

Yogurt and Blueberries

Nothing is better than yogurt and blueberries. Considered her all time favorite breakfast, I thought I would allow her to have a little fun with it. After all, I should reward her for her good eating.
By the way, bib don't help in these cases. You are better off with just a diaper and then straight in the bath afterwards.

The Fairest Fairy

Kins was a beautiful fairy for Halloween. I think she knew it too. When those fairy wings went on and the bow in the back of her tutu was tied, her walk changed almost immediately into a strut. She seemed proud to have those wings. All the turns and stares, smiles and waves, and "ooo, look at the fairy" from everyone she passed by seemed to really up her self esteem. She first wore her costume to her The Little Gym Halloween party on Friday, the 29th. This is when she felt most proud to be a beautiful, pink fairy.
We hung out at our house the morning of Halloween, the 31st. We dabbled in some chalk art and Kins enjoyed posing with her very own pumpkin. She would pick it up with both hands, take three or four steps with it, then drop it to watch how far it could roll.
Then we ventured to the beach, where Dada helped get all of Kins' energy out. We knew she would have to be extra tired to get the two hour nap we were hoping for. It was going to be a late night, so she had to rest up!

Up she woke from her almost two hour nap, hoorah!! and off we were to the first part of our Halloween festivities at my parents house. Kins absolutely loves it over there. Her Auntie Erin was the most remarkable owl. Kins got a kick out of her face paint and enjoyed trying on parts of her outfit. After dinner and all our costume changes (minus mine and my husbands - who has time to dress up with a baby?), we took off to the next and last part of our evening where candy, appetizers, drinks, decorations, and family were plentiful and great!

We arrived at my Aunt Kathleen's and put on Kins wings and tutu once again. Her immediate strut was apparent and her seemingly proud smile was back. She tried the whole trick o' treating thing. She was not so fond of the first two homes, but by the third she realized (I think) what it was all about, and that if you knock, someone will come and put something in your candy pail. My husband and I expressed profound amounts of excitement when the candy fell in her pail so that she knew there was something pretty amazing going on!

It was so much fun, once again, to experience this fallen holiday for me, through a child's eyes. It brought the Halloween spirit back for me and I am excited to say, I can not wait for next years Halloween.
