Snow

The snow brought us out instead of keeping us in. We spent the day in Ojai, CA on Saturday, my husbands hometown and dwelling place of his parents/ Kins' Tita and Pop. . The rain was intense and pounding on the way in to Ojai. As we got further and further in, we noticed the drops on our windshield lasted longer and appeared more cloudy in color. SLEET!!!! "It could TOTALLY snow," my husband said. We prayed and prayed it would.

As the afternoon was closing and our dinner with our parents was over, the phone rang. A family friend of the Gullatt's called, sounding awkwardly excited. She screamed the news of the snow, saying it was the first time in her 34 years of living in Ojai, or maybe ever that it has snowed. We left our dinner plates and half drunken wine, and set out to let Kins experience her first snow ever. Besides the snow, the sunset just happened to be extra remarkable as well. Perfect evening I must say!!!

The day ended quite nicely as well, making for an all together perfect day of being in love, at least on my end.  (I think my hubby and Kins Kins love me.)

Our favorite breakfast place in Ventura, its outdoor patio is so pleasant to sit in. Kinsley loves the birds, flowers, and free cupcakes at the end of the meal, and Kris and I love our MANY cups of coffee and good food.

Nice to love home

Yesterday evening was just beautiful. The wind died down, Kris left for volleyball practice, and I was left with an ancy child. So, I threw on my running shoes and we headed for the pier. I was so happy we did. ZERO running was to be had but pushing the stroller on the pier was a workout in itself. She enjoyed the bumpiness of the ride, and I enjoyed the beauty of my hometown. This view just never gets old, no matter how many times you have been.

What a 10 Year Old Likes

Happy Birthday Lukey!!! Such a fun party full of rambunctious young boys full of energy and spirit. It was so great to capture these moments. These photos remind me of the movie The Sandlot. Obviously I know BMX and baseball are complete opposites, but all these boys reminded me of the Sandlot team, goofy, fun and a little bit of trouble. (click photos to enlarge)

Had to throw some of Kins in the mix!!!!! "How did they do that?"

 So Sandlot-esque...

 Cute cousin Luke

This photo makes me laugh... my caption for this photo would be what the boys watching must be saying..."wow dude, that is serious air"... haha

10 years old. What a good age to be!

Stacking

I did not know this skill required your full concentration, stacking that is. Maybe not me, but for my Kinsley, her brain was working overtime, really trying to hold her hands steady so that the blocks she had already stacked remained. Each one she placed on top of the other took extreme effort, and I was so proud of her for pushing through, as frustrating as it was sometimes.
